Last weekend I had the pleasure of shooting Ryan and Christine’s EPIC destination wedding up at the Resort at Squaw Creek in the Lake Tahoe area. Every detail was purposefully thought out, the scenery was stunning, and the resort itself was amazing and had the most incredible staff! We were treated like royalty from the second we stepped out of our cute little rental car and they didn’t let it fade for a moment. For a couple that loves the outdoors as much as these two, this location was the perfect place for them to commit their lives together. And not to mention the fact that they waited very patiently for this day… according to their best man it was 5.8 years in the making! Yeah!
This is a dream wedding for me… a wonderful couple who loves being outside, epic scenery, amazing light, and my favorite…. time for a lot of pictures! The most important things to them were the pictures they would get to take with them after the day, so we planned plenty of time to capture it all. They were game for doing their “First Look” before the ceremony so we found a gorgeous woodsy area on the resort property to set it up… and Ryan, being the incredibly thoughtful soon-to-be husband had a gift in hand while waiting patiently to see his bride for the first time…

This one was one of my favorites
*LOVE* it!! He got her a journey necklace. So stinkin thoughtful Ryan! This was one of my very favorite moments from the day. There are much more to come, and not to mention the fact that we did a “Day After” shoot where they got all dressed up AGAIN the day after their wedding and we took a cable car up to high camp for some amazing shots overlooking the valley with the lake in the background…
I had the help of the lovely and talented Jen Disney for this wedding too. Did I mention this being a dream wedding for me to shoot yet?
Just sayin.
Here is a favorite from our “Day After” shoot, back to where we did their super fun engagement pictures! Much much more to come but I just couldn’t wait
I’ve been going through some more of my images from Mary and Andrew’s session and found some more favorites to share…
SUCH GREAT LIGHT! Oh man.
Guess where I was on Tuesday? … The San Diego Court House!!
If there is anyone who says you can’t get married in 7 days then these two just proved you wrong. That’s right, I just said SEVEN. Days. Love it!
That was one of our favorites from the day, I’ll have more to share in a later post!
Ok fine one more…
ohhhhh too much fun.
It is shoots like this one that really remind me of why I love my job… I’m just going to let the images do the sharing.
Just a couple favorites!
Thank you so much Danielle and Brett!! I’m so excited for you both
A couple weeks ago we had some rain, a thick marine layer for days, and all I was aching for was some gorgeous blue sky and golden sunlight… which is really funny because I LOVE rain and usually find it such a treat. But I knew exactly what I wanted and when it came time for this shoot we got SO SO lucky! That morning it was grey skies and the like, but by the time we headed down that evening it all burned off and we were blessed with everything I could have hoped for… all the blue sky and perfectly golden light I could want. As if that wasn’t enough of a blessing in itself, Mary and Andrew pretty much knocked it out of the park in front of my camera.
They are hilarious together by the way, always laughing and joking around… they are a joy to hang out with.
I think that last one might be my favorite. She’s in love. He let’s her shine. And that is just the most beautiful thing to see.
I was so excited when Jess and Jon were open to doing their “First Look” pictures, it just means so much less stress for them and more time with their guests after the ceremony is over since we take all the pictures beforehand. We were able to get some GREAT images that we wouldn’t have had time for otherwise, which makes me super stoked to be able to provide them with that too!
Jess and Jon were so stinkin cute when they saw each other for the first time… just loved it.
Stay tuned for Part 3!
Just following up with some more of my favorites from Jess and Jon’s perfect day! I’ll share more of my thoughts in a later post but for now, enjoy!
I just loved her dress…
Jess lived in France for a bit and she bought these shoes while she was there. Cute and comfy!
Her all white bouquet was beautiful and had white feathers in it which Jess was really pleased with. She couldn’t have been happier with how it turned out!
Her bridesmaids had bouquets with green and white and they complimented their black bridesmaid dresses beautifully.

The reception was held at the home of Jessica’s grandmother who was an absolutely incredible host. Their family is really close and the whole day was just evidence of how they all care and love for one another.
Jess getting her veil on…
Her necklace is from her Grandmother too!
mmmm dreamy.
Backyard weddings are a favorite of mine.. they are intimate, dreamy, and there is a lot of special meaning that come’s along with the location chosen. In this case, the bride’s mother and father celebrated their wedding reception in the same place 28 years ago. I can’t wait to share more about Jess and Jon’s gorgeous wedding day, but for now I have just a couple images to get going…
The beautiful bride Jess who is absolutely stunning…
and her handsome husband Jon…
and they are *so* in love.
the light was really amazing that day. like, really. amazing.
So that’s that for now…
