Meet Lucy!

Here is the beautiful new addition to Dave and Lindsay’s family… with her proud big sister Faith and her brother Owen! They truly love her and its the cutest thing EVER. Faith and Owen were both in my wedding, Faith was one of the flower girls and Owen was the ring bearer. They along with Ruby, our other flower girl, stole the show and it meant so much to have them part of our wedding. I seriously love them.

That cutie can nap through anything… a girl after my own heart. But seriously how precious is this??

Here is Faith with her lil’ sis, you can tell how happy she is with her new sister! Plus mom and dad were doing a great dance behind me to get the kids to laugh. Thanks Dave!

This was the first time I photographed Faith, back when Dave and Lindsay had their engagement pictures done… its so fun to see a family I love so much grow and be able to look back over their lives through pictures I took. Such a privilege.

We caught a couple pictures of Lucy sleeping by herself. Seriously. I’m in love. It makes me *ALMOST* want to have a Lucy for myself… but juuuuussssssst not yet. Don’t go gettin any ideas! Haha.

This shoot was so much fun… after getting rained out on our first try, we got SO lucky with the best weather of the week during round 2… it had rained that morning but then the sun came out and left the most amazing sky and landscape. And another fun fact… we all have the same last name but aren’t related, haha! At least we will for three more months and then mine changes

I loved their little boy Izzy, he was adorable!

I *LOVE* family shoots. What a joy. There were a bunch of favorites from this one so I’ll have more to share in a later post. For now, enjoy

The Joy of Holga’s

My dear friend Amy moved up north to the central coast and it made me sad to lose my surfing buddy But the very good news was that she got to move home and be around family for when she and Matt had their beautiful baby girl Elia! Her family is just incredible and I don’t blame them for wanting to be close by. Plus, the central coast is pretty much one of the best places in the entire world so add that into the mix and I can focus on the fact that I get to visit one of my very favorite people in one of my very favorite places. Win win.

A couple weeks ago I got to shoot a wedding with Amy in her area, and while I was in town we busted out the holga for some play time. This is what some of us photographers do for fun Can’t resist the yummy film…

And absolutely no photoshop, just pure Holga 120 film. Mmm mmm good.

With that I now have some more weddings to finish prepping so I can share those with you too. If you can tell, I got a bit burned out on blogging this year… but the good news is its a joy that I can see again. The holga is actually a great example of what I hope to do (and hope I’m already doing) with my words and my images… keep things simple, pure, and find the best light that I can.
